What are the Global Competencies that will prepare our students for success in a world that is becoming more diverse and connected every day? The Dean from the Janesville Academy for International Studies, a high school program that equips students to become intellectually curious, active researchers, and responsive to challenges, will share her successes and challenges. You will hear from her students who have discovered their academic passions by given choice, guidance, and time. The students will share how their thoughts and feelings evolved as they dug deep into global issues. Kathy Boguszewski will then highlight the book that is at the core of education reform and personalized learning: Guided Inquiry Design: A Framework for Inquiry in Your School written by Carol C. Kuhlthau, Leslie K. Maniotes, and Ann K. Caspari.
