iPads, Non-fiction Text, and Common Core...What else could one ask for?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Common Core Standards, increase rigor, and critical thinking are shaping the lives of our students in the 21st century.  Schools are being asked to prepare students for career and college readiness by boosting student exposure to non-fiction text.  Students often complain about how boring reading non-fiction text can be.  What happens when students use digital literacies as a learning tool for non-fiction text instead of a book, paper and pencil? A teacher went on a mission to explore what would happen.  She will share her findings as well as introduce you to the apps and lessons she incorporated into her classroom.  This workshop will be informational as well as interactive.  Bring your iPad and see what you can learn to help motivate your students to read!
