Engaging Students in the Environment and the Research Process

Do your students like to tweet? Do you often see them taking pictures with their phones? Do they like to be treated like experts? With Citizen Science projects, students report snow depths, take pictures of ladybugs, and send videos of laughing babies. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 . . . counting bats, birds, and bikes. With interdisciplinary monitoring projects, students use technology to communicate their information and become engaged in community science projects.
